sh minerals GmbH is one of the most important suppliers of fillers and grains in Europe. We are part of the medium-sized group of companies Schön + Hippelein. We supply fillers and grains made of calcium carbonate (limestone) and dolomite from 5 group-owned locations in Germany. Concrete additives, special lightweight fillers, precipitated calcium carbonate (pcc) and flame retardants complete our product range.
Our history
1903
Foundation
Foundation of a stonemasonry business by Georg Schön and Karl Hippelein. In the following years, the internationally renowned Crailsheim shell limestone is quarried in the Jagst valley / Baden-Württemberg.
1945
The reconstruction of the destroyed towns and roads results in a variety of tasks for the company.
1970
Schön + Hippelein acquire a high-purity, light-coloured limestone deposit near Heidenheim an der Brenz.
Today, the Schön + Hippelein calcite plant produces high-quality fillers and grains there using state-of-the-art processing technology.
2006
Participation of Schön + Hippelein in GEOMIN Erzgebirgische Kalkwerke GmbH in the Erzgebirge / Saxony. GEOMIN is the only manufacturer of bright white fillers and grains from its own German marble deposits.
2006
Establishment of sh minerals GmbH. Distribution of fillers and grains for Calcitwerk Schön + Hippelein and GEOMIN Erzgebirgische Kalkwerke.

sh minerals distributes the pure white and super lightweight
sil-cell lightweight fillers of our partner SILBRICO (USA) in Central and Eastern Europe.

sh minerals distributes ATH flame retardants Portaflame from Ankerpoort BV, Netherlands (today Sibelco).

sh minerals develops concrete additives for use in precast concrete, concrete blocks and ready-mixed concrete, which are produced according to a special process: sh_compact, sh_easyflow, sh_stoneash.
