Heidenheim (Baden-Württemberg)

Since 1973, the Calcitwerk Schön + Hippelein GmbH & Co. KG has been producing high quality fillers and grains, made of natural and remarkable pure calcium carbonate, at the head office of sh minerals GmbH in Heidenheim.

The deposit of extremely bright diagenetically compacted calcite of Heidenheim stems from the Malm Epsilon bedding in the Swabian Jura. This deposit, formed around 150 million years ago in the Upper Jurassic Epoch, consists of a stone with extreme chemical purity: Its calcium carbonate content is about 99%.

The particular products of this production site are marketed under the trade names CALCIT and Jurakrone
